Senior AI Engineer
Salary: up to £100,000 + Bonus & Benefits
Location: Remote but you must be based in the UK
Job Type: Permanent
We are currently recruiting for a Senior AI Engineer to join an organisation investing heavily in Artificial Intelligence, with a focus on expanding AI adoption, developing agentic solutions and improving business processes through intelligent automation.
The successful candidate will have a strong software engineering background, ideally within full stack development, combined with practical experience designing, developing and deploying AI agents.
This Senior AI Engineer position requires someone who is equally comfortable developing technical solutions and engaging with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for AI adoption.
Responsibilities for the Senior AI Engineer:
- Design, develop and deploy AI agents to automate business processes and improve operational efficiency
- Work closely with stakeholders across different business functions to identify opportunities for AI implementation
- Develop and orchestrate agentic AI workflows, integrating solutions with existing enterprise systems
- Support the development of shared AI platforms, model routing and LLM evaluation frameworks
- Translate business requirements into scalable, production ready AI applications
- Analyse existing business processes, identify inefficiencies and recommend AI driven improvements
- Maintain and enhance existing AI applications and automation solutions
- Collaborate with technical and nontechnical teams to drive AI adoption across the organisation
Requirements for the Senior AI Engineer:
- Strong software engineering experience, ideally with a full stack development background
- Hands on experience designing, building and orchestrating AI agents
- Strong Python programming skills
- Experience with LLMs, agentic AI frameworks, model evaluation and benchmarking
- Experience integrating AI solutions with enterprise applications and internal systems
- Experience working with Azure or AWS cloud environments
- Strong business analysis skills, including process mapping and requirements gathering
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to operate independently and translate business challenges into practical technical solutions
Desirable Experience for the Senior AI Engineer:
- Experience with Snowflake or Databricks
- Experience developing shared AI platforms and model routing solutions
- Experience supporting AI adoption across nontechnical business functions
- Previous full stack development experience
