  • Trauma Level: N/A (transfers major trauma)


  • EMR System: Meditech


  • Specialty Backup Available: Hospitalist, Nephrology, Ortho, Peds, Podiatry, Anesthesia, Cardiology, Pulmonology, Radiology, Surgery, TelePsych, TeleNeuro, Trauma


  • Support Staff Available: Physicians, APPs, RNs



PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE

  • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes



JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Board: ABEM or Board Eligible


  • Licenses: Active unrestricted VA Medical License


  • DEA / CDS: Active DEA with VA address, schedules 2,2N,3,3N,4,5


  • Certifications: ACLS, PALS, ATLS (if not board certified)


  • Experience: Residency completion


  • Other Qualifications: Flu vaccine, Case Logs for past 2 years, CME documentation, Sedation Quiz



DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients of all ages.


  • Manage acute medical and trauma emergencies, including resuscitation and stabilization.


  • Collaborate with advanced practice providers and nursing staff to ensure efficient patient flow.


  • Perform emergency procedures such as conscious sedation, intubations, central line placement, and wound management.


  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records using Meditech EMR system.
