Job Title: Locum Tenens Gastroenterology Physician (Outpatient)

Location: Multiple outpatient facilities in Georgia (Gwinnett County and surrounding areas)

Assignment Overview:

A healthcare organization in Georgia is seeking a Board-Eligible or Board-Certified Gastroenterology physician for a locum tenens assignment to provide supplemental outpatient coverage across multiple clinic locations.

Assignment Details:

  Start Date: ASAP

  End Date: July 31, 2026


• 
  Schedule: Scheduled clinical hours only (no call required)


• 
  Practice Setting: Outpatient


• 
  EMR System: Epic


• 
  Patients per Day: Approximately 12


• 
  Coverage Type: Supplemental

Facility Details:

• Multiple outpatient comprehensive medical centers


• No hospital or surgery center privileges required


• Stroke-certified facility

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Outpatient gastroenterology care


• Perform and interpret procedures including:




• Upper GI endoscopy (with biopsy, foreign body removal, and bleeding control)


• Colonoscopy (with biopsy and polyp excision)


• Sigmoidoscopy (flexible)


• Esophageal manometry interpretation


• Small bowel biopsy


• Lower GI endoscopy




• Admissions required; no inpatient rounding

Requirements:

• Active Georgia medical license (required at time of submission)


• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Gastroenterology


• Board certification must align with specialty


• No fellowship required

Support & Staffing:

• No supervision of advanced practice providers required


• No teaching or resident supervision required

Credentialing:

• Estimated timeframe: 21 days

Call Coverage:

• No call responsibilities

Additional Notes:

• Only one provider will be accepted for this assignment


• No reimbursement for licensing costs


• Standard U.S. holidays observed: New Year s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
