We are seeking an ABEM Board Certified Emergency Medicine Physician for a long-term nocturnist locum opportunity in Connecticut. This assignment offers a consistent overnight schedule, strong APP support, and the opportunity to practice in a high-volume emergency department with dual physician coverage during peak hours.
Assignment Details- Start: Late December 2026 or Early January 2027
- 23-week assignment
- Coverage through May 2027
- Backfill for retiring physician
- Overnight shifts: 11:00 PM 9:00 AM
- Average 32 hours per week
- Typically 3 shifts one week and 4 shifts the next
- Emergency Department
- Annual Volume: Approximately 54,000 visits
- Dual physician coverage: 7:00 AM 2:00 AM
- Single physician coverage: 2:00 AM 7:00 AM
- Evaluate and manage adult and pediatric emergency patients
- Perform standard emergency medicine procedures
- Collaborate with APPs and emergency department staff
- Approximately 15 patients per shift
- 24-hour Advanced Practice Provider coverage
- Collaborative emergency medicine team
- MD or DO
- ABEM Board Certified
- Active Connecticut license preferred
- Local or drive-in candidates strongly preferred
