Golang Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Golang Engineer to develop, maintain and troubleshoot secure Go-based microservices within a modern cloud-native environment.

The successful candidate will have strong experience with Go, REST APIs, microservices, containerisation, Kubernetes and Helm, along with a solid understanding of secure coding, Agile development and continuous delivery practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and troubleshoot secure Go microservices.
• Design and integrate REST APIs within microservices-based architectures.
• Work with containerisation technologies and cloud-native platforms.
• Deploy and manage applications using Kubernetes and Helm.
• Follow secure coding and software development best practices.
• Contribute to code management, Agile development and continuous delivery processes.
• Troubleshoot application and deployment issues.
• Work collaboratively with engineering teams while also managing tasks independently.
• Analyse technical issues and develop effective solutions.
• Support continuous improvement of application development and deployment practices.

Required Experience & Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Golang / Go.
• Experience maintaining and troubleshooting secure Go microservices.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs.
• Experience with microservices architecture.
• Experience with containerisation technologies.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes.
• Hands-on experience deploying applications using Helm.
• Strong understanding of secure coding practices.
• Experience with code management and Agile development practices.
• Experience with continuous delivery / CI/CD.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Experience

• Experience with Java development.
• Familiarity with SQL databases.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Dynatrace and Splunk.
