HGV Technician / Commercial Vehicle Mechanic
Location: Riccall, near Selby (YO19)
Pay Rate: £16.00 - £20.00 per hour (Dependent on experience) + Overtime paid after 40 hours
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 6:00pm (Optional Saturday morning overtime available)
Perks: Company van provided Flexible working arrangements negotiable
Holidays: 20 days annual leave + Bank Holidays
Critical Requirements (Apply Only If You Meet These)
Qualifications: Level 3 NVQ/City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent proven time-served HGV experience).
Licence: Full UK Driving Licence (HGV Class 1 / C+E licence is highly advantageous).
Technical Expertise: Proven experience in diagnostic testing, servicing, mechanical repairs, and MOT preparations for commercial trucks, trailers, and vans.

Key Responsibilities
Fleet Maintenance: Perform scheduled servicing, safety inspections, and preventative maintenance on trucks, trailers, and light commercial vehicles.
Diagnostics & Repairs: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults.
MOT Preparation: Inspect, repair, and prepare heavy commercial vehicles and trailers to DVSA MOT test standards.
Compliance: Complete job cards, defect sheets, and service records accurately in line with regulatory requirements.
Skills & Experience Required
Strong background in commercial fleet maintenance and multi-brand truck/trailer repair.
Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced workshop environment.
Methodical approach to fault-finding, safety compliance, and workshop standards.
