  • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes


JOB REQUIREMENTS



  • Board: BC/BE in Emergency Medicine (ABEM/AOBEM) or Family Medicine/Internal Medicine (ABMS)

  • Licenses: Active VA Medical License and DEA with VA address

  • DEA / CDS: Active DEA with schedules 2,2N,3,3N,4,5

  • Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, PALS (if not BC in EM), NRP (if non-ABEM)

  • Experience: Residency trained in EM, FM, or IM; new graduates acceptable with 3-month proctorship

  • Other Qualifications: CME includes Preeclampsia; Case logs for last 2 years required


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients presenting with acute conditions.

  • Manage patient volume of approximately 44 patients per day in a 44-bed facility.

  • Supervise and collaborate with mid-level providers (NP/PA) during 9-hour overlapping shifts.

  • Perform emergency procedures as required, including but not limited to intubation, central line placement, and laceration repair.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic EMR.
