Overview:
A behavioral health facility in Reading, PA is seeking a locum Adult Psychiatrist for full-time inpatient coverage. This is a long-term assignment with a collaborative, well-supported care environment.
Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for adult inpatient admissions
Provide daily follow-ups and discharge planning
Diagnose and treat acute and chronic psychiatric conditions using evidence-based practices
Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans, including medication management
Monitor medication effectiveness and patient response
Provide crisis intervention, stabilization, and de-escalation as needed
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nursing, social work, psychology, and primary care
Participate in treatment team meetings and care coordination
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR
Comply with all ethical, legal, and regulatory standards
Patient Details:
Adult patients (18+)
Patient load:
Mix of new and existing patients
Support & Environment:
Full treatment team and nursing support
Working alongside approximately 12 other providers
No supervision of mid-level providers
Requirements:
Board Eligible (Psychiatry)
BLS certification
Experience with inpatient psychiatry preferred
EMR: WellSky
