DevOps Platform Engineer
Hybrid London
Paying up to 100k + 20% bonus
We're working with an enterprise scale global entertainment organisation seeking an experienced DevOps Platform Engineer to support and enhance a modern hybrid infrastructure environment across cloud and on-premise platforms.
This is a hands-on role focused on Kubernetes, Linux administration, automation, monitoring, and platform reliability. You'll play a key part in ensuring critical systems remain secure, scalable and highly available while supporting engineering teams across a global business.
The Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Building, managing and scaling Kubernetes clusters across cloud and on-premise environments.
- Supporting and administering MySQL, PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases.
- Managing monitoring, alerting and logging platforms.
- Automating infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code and scripting.
- Maintaining high availability and resilience across critical systems.
- Managing access controls and permissions within cloud platforms.
- Troubleshooting, performance tuning and platform optimisation.
- Developing technical standards, best practices and documentation.
- Providing technical support and guidance to internal engineering teams.
Required Experience
We're keen to speak with candidates who have experience in some or all of the following:
- Hands-on administration of sharded MongoDB clusters.
- Building and managing Kubernetes environments, including GKE and self-managed clusters.
- Designing and supporting highly available, resilient infrastructure.
- Monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, ELK Stack and rsyslog.
- Infrastructure automation using Terraform, Ansible, Packer and Bash.
- Strong Linux administration experience, particularly Ubuntu environments.
- Exposure to medium or large-scale business environments.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Experience collaborating with teams across multiple locations and time zones.
