Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Child Care Center Cook to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious and delicious meals for children in our care. Your culinary skills and creativity will play a vital role in ensuring that our children receive balanced meals that cater to their dietary needs. Responsibilities
Prepare and cook meals according to established menus, ensuring nutritional standards are met.
Plan menus that accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences of children.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations.
Handle food with care, ensuring proper storage and sanitation practices are followed.
Responsible for meal preparation and serving during designated meal times.
Collaborate with directors and other staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist in ordering as needed.
Participate in ongoing training related to food handling and safety practices.
Qualifications
Previous experience in the dietary department or as a dietary aide is preferred.
Culinary experience in fine dining or restaurant settings is a plus.
Strong skills in food preparation, cooking, and serving.
Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques.
Excellent knife skills and familiarity with various cooking methods.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
Experience in catering or working within the food industry is beneficial but not required. Join us in creating a nurturing environment where children can thrive through healthy eating habits!
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.50 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 - 40 per week
