Hays Accountancy & Finance are recruiting on behalf of an innovative and expanding organisation seeking to appoint a Head of Finance. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for an experienced finance professional to influence business strategy, lead financial operations, and support the organisation through its next phase of growth.


Your new role


Reporting to the CFO, the Head of Finance will lead the day-to-day finance function while providing strategic financial support across the business. Key responsibilities include:



  • Leading the preparation of management accounts and financial reporting.

  • Managing budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning.

  • Overseeing statutory accounts, audits, and tax compliance.

  • Ensuring robust financial controls, policies, and procedures.

  • Managing payroll and treasury activities.

  • Driving finance systems and process improvement initiatives.

  • Leading, mentoring, and developing the finance team.

  • Providing financial analysis and strategic insight to senior leadership.

  • Supporting business growth through continuous improvement and effective stakeholder engagement.






What you'll need to succeed



  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with significant post-qualification experience in a senior finance role.

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including financial reporting and taxation.

  • Experience producing statutory and management accounts.

  • Previous exposure to ERP systems.

  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.

  • Excellent leadership and people management capabilities.

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • Experience driving process improvements and operational efficiencies.

  • The ability to balance strategic thinking with a hands-on approach
