We are a small, developing family of individual Country Inns, combining exceptional food, refreshing drinks and a comfy night stay. At Country Village Inns we want to give our country pubs back to their communities. We aim to make our pubs the social hub, employ local people, source local produce and raise the profile of the village.
Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team in delivering exceptional culinary experiences. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in culinary arts and demonstrate outstanding leadership and team management skills. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food preparation and production, and fostering a positive working environment within the hospitality sector.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage the kitchen team, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations.
Oversee food preparation and production, ensuring quality and consistency in every dish served.
Develop innovative menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends.
Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety in accordance with health regulations.
Train and supervise kitchen staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
Monitor inventory levels, placing orders for supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery to guests.
Assist in budgeting and cost control measures to optimise kitchen efficiency.
Skills
Strong culinary skills with a deep understanding of food preparation techniques.
Proven leadership abilities with experience in team management within a kitchen environment.
Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively under pressure.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality.
Ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team while maintaining a positive atmosphere.
Creative flair for menu development, showcasing seasonal ingredients and innovative dishes.
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with both kitchen staff and front-of-house teams.
