Job description

Job description

Senior Quantity Surveyor Mid & North Wales / North West (hybrid) £60,000 to £70,000 + car allowance + bonus

Full-time, permanent, hybrid

Our client are a growing regional main contractor with over £15m turnover, delivering refurbishment, maintenance and new-build projects across Mid and North Wales, the West Midlands and neighbouring English regions.

This is a role with true commercial ownership. You will run your own projects from award to final account, report directly to the Commercial Manager and Directors, and have genuine autonomy rather than being one voice among many. If you want direct access to decision-makers, a strong pipeline and the room to shape how the commercial function works, this will suit you.

We are open to candidates across Mid and North Wales, Cheshire and the wider North West. Hybrid working, typically 2 to 3 days on site with the rest split between our Welshpool office and home.

What you will do

  • Own the commercial performance of your projects, from CVRs, forecasts and cashflow through to final account
  • Procure subcontractors and manage subcontract accounts
  • Price, submit and agree variations and additional works
  • Prepare interim applications and final accounts
  • Manage cost and risk, and identify commercial opportunities
  • Work closely with Contracts Managers and site teams to improve project performance

What we are looking for

  • Experience as a Senior QS, or a strong QS ready for the next step in their career
  • A qualification in quantity surveying or commercial management
  • Solid experience across refurbishment, maintenance and new-build
  • Strong CVR, forecasting and cost control
  • Subcontract procurement and account management
  • JCT contract administration (NEC useful but not essential)
  • Strong Excel and general IT skills
  • Full UK driving licence

What we offer

  • £60,000 to £70,000 depending on experience, plus car allowance and performance bonus
  • Support for industry qualifications, i.e. MRICS/ MCIOB
  • A stable workload and a strong pipeline across Mid and North Wales and the North West
  • Direct access to decision-makers and real responsibility from day one
