Job Description:


The purpose of this position is to operate production equipment safely and efficiently to ensure consistent product quality and output. This role is essential to maintaining smooth operations, meeting production targets, and supporting overall plant efficiency.






This role operates machinery according to SOPs, performs setups and changeovers, conducts routine quality checks, monitors production parameters, communicates with team members, and supports basic troubleshooting. The Machine Operator maintains a clean and safe work environment and ensures compliance with safety, GMP, and quality standards while supporting team performance at Bakerly.






This position supports reliable production and consistent product quality while upholding Bakerly's core values of honesty, reliability, collaboration, positivity, and excellence.








Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions


Monitor the overall process including but not limited to product quality, temperature, weight, waste/down time, and any deviations that occur.


Verify visually product quality, lot code, and settings are present and accurate, etc.


Ensures the traceability of the material by completing all traceability paperwork, and check lists.


Report ALL quality and safety concerns to reporting manager or member of management team not limited but including unknown visitors, pest control, expiration or production quality in question, sanitation, etc.


Machine Operators shall be flexible in ability and assist as required.






In addition to the specific duties outlined, you may be required to perform other tasks and responsibilities as deemed necessary by your manager. These tasks will be relevant to your role and within the scope of your area of expertise.





Requirements:



Education:


High school/GED diploma is required







Experience:


One year of experience in production or food manufacturing







Skills:


Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in production processes.


Ability to thrive in a fast-paced production environment, maintaining efficiency under time constraints.


Proficient in basic math (e.g., addition, subtraction, multiplication) for data recording.


Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with team members and supervisors.


Basic understanding of production processes or willingness to learn technical skills related to food manufacturing.


Strong verbal and written communication skills; maintain strong communication with other areas and departments.


Ability to read, understand, and follow basic English instructions, work orders, safety procedures, quality standards, production documentation, and machine operating guidelines. Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding safety, quality, production issues, and daily work activities.








Physical Requirements


Ability to stand in place for extended periods of time


Ability to walk, sit, bend, kneel, climb, and stoop for extended periods


Able to ascend and descend from stairs and or ladders


Lift/Carry/Move heavy objects-(up to 50 lbs.)


Use hands to handle, control or feel objects


Seeing (vision-distance) details of objects


Ability to read/comprehend safety signage and warning signs


Ability to hear sounds for different recognition


Make quick precise adjustments (machinery)


Ability to use one or two hands to grasp, move, or assemble


React quickly using hands, fingers, or feet


Ability to do required personal protective equipment required and defined by task


Ability to work with chemicals


Ability to do required good manufacturing process equipment (Clean provided uniform, hair restraints, beard covers, nitrile gloves, designated plant safety footwear


Ability to remove required good manufacturing process equipment upon exiting plant floor.


Perform appropriate hand sanitation requirements








Work Environment


Ability to work in fluctuating ambient temperatures (heat, humidity, cold)


Ability to work in a fast-paced environment


Ability to work around mechanized equipment safely adhering to all safety guidelines associated with moving parts


Ability to work around known food allergens


Ability to work in fluctuating noise level environments


Ability to follow designated pedestrian walkways


Ability to safely interact around industrial truck traffic


Ability to follow all personal protective equipment requirements


Ability to follow all good manufacturing practice standards


Ability to interact in areas with ingredients classified as "allergen"
