Coverage Details:
• Coverage needed per month (24hr / hourly shifts / shifts + call, etc): varies; 12-hour shifts:
ICU, 11/19-11/20, ; Stepdown 11/26-11/27, ; ICU, 11/28-11/29, ; Stepdown, 12/7, 12/8, ; Stepdown, 12/12-12/14,
• Frequency of any Call needed: none
• Start and End Date: ongoing
• Schedule Details: (start / end times, days of the week, etc): 0600 - 1830
Work Details:
• Support staff: cardiac surgeon available, will round on patients; hospitalist team covers at night
• Department Description: Cardiac Surgery Stepdown
• Patient Volume: Census 12-22 (mix of primary and consults, 12-15 primary, rest consults)
• Patient Age Group: Adult
• EMR/Documentation System: EPIC
• PAC system (if applicable): Sectra
• Special Procedures/Unit Details: High acuity, must be proficient with admit/discharging patients, typical APP procedures - removal of chest tube/pacing wires
Requirements:
• Provider type (MD/DO or NP/PA): NP/PA
• Board Certifications Req d: Yes
• Fellowship Req d: NA
• State License(s) Req d: Yes
• Certifications Req d? (BLS / ACLS / etc): BLS/ACLS
• Specific Skills Req d: comprehensive management of cardiac surgery patients CABG, valve repair and replacement, aortic surgery, daily assessment and diagnosis, and treatment planning, management of arrhythmias, proficient with pacemakers, volume management and diuresis, electrolyte abnormalities, infection surveillance, interpretation of data and synthesis, chest tube management, removal of surgical drains, wound care, care coordination and discharge planning, recognition of clinical deterioration and timely escalation, effective communication skills and professionalism

• Minimum Experience Req d (# of years): 2 years experience / Trauma Level I experience required
• Any additional requirements/details to screen for: Seeking an experienced NP/PA to provide coverage for a high-acuity Cardiac Surgery stepdown service the APP functions as an integral member of the Cardiac Surgery team, providing comprehensive inpatient management of complex pre-post operative cardiac surgery patients. The role requires an APP who is comfortable practicing with a high degree of autonomy while collaborating with cardiac surgeons and the multi-disciplinary team
Credentialing/Privileging Timeframe: temporary privileges okay if clean background
