Job description


Safe Harbor Wills & Trusts is looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented person to join our Medicaid planning team.


This is a great position for someone who enjoys working with numbers, financial records, checklists, and solving puzzles.


You do not need to already be a Medicaid expert. We will teach you the rules. What we need is someone who can learn them, follow a process, and apply those rules carefully to each client's situation.



Compensation- $45,000-$50,000 DOE, Health Insurance, 401(k), Life Insurance, Paid Vacation, Training and Development


Compensation:

$45,000 - $50,000 DOE




Responsibilities:


  • Review bank statements and other financial records




  • Track deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and other transactions




  • Gather and organize financial information from clients




  • Identify missing information or documentation




  • Follow established checklists and procedures




  • Learn New York Medicaid eligibility rules




  • Work with our attorneys to help families qualify for Medicaid while legally protecting as many assets as possible




  • Keep files organized and moving forward






Qualifications:

  • Comfortable working with all Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines with quick turnaround times
  • Applicants must have excellent communication skills and organizational skills
  • Some college is preferred; high school diploma or equivalent is required


  • Extremely organized




  • Comfortable working with numbers and financial documents




  • Detail-oriented and accurate




  • Good at following a process




  • Persistent about getting missing information




  • Comfortable learning rules and applying them to real-life situations




  • Able to manage several files and deadlines at the same time




  • Experience in banking, bookkeeping, accounting, financial services, insurance, legal offices, healthcare administration, or similar detail-heavy work can be especially helpful.




  • Medicaid experience is a plus, but not required.





Training is available for the right candidate. Strong analytical ability, persistence, accuracy, sound judgment, and follow-through are more important than prior knowledge of Medicaid rules or specific financial products.
