Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated HGV Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in maintaining and repairing heavy goods vehicles. This role is crucial in ensuring that our fleet operates efficiently and safely. The HGV Technician will work closely with other team members to deliver exceptional service while adhering to industry standards.
Responsibilities
Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on heavy goods vehicles, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Diagnose faults using schematics and logic controllers, providing accurate assessments of vehicle conditions.
Perform electrical and mechanical repairs, including welding when necessary.
Supervise junior technicians and provide guidance on best practices in vehicle maintenance.
Maintain detailed records of all work performed, including parts used and time taken for each task.
Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their vehicle issues and repair processes.
Collaborate with the team to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
Qualifications
Proven experience as an HGV Technician or similar role within the automotive industry.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
Familiarity with electrical systems and logic controllers is essential.
Excellent customer service skills, demonstrating the ability to communicate effectively in English.
Leadership qualities with experience supervising or mentoring others in a workshop environment.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including schematics.
A valid driving licence is preferred.
