PGCE Tutor



Turn Your Training into Meaningful 1:1 Support

We're looking for PGCE-qualified Tutors to support children and young people across Hampshire through personalised 1:1 tuition.

Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll provide tailored support to learners of all ages, from primary through to post-16 education. Many students require alternative educational provision due to SEND, anxiety, school avoidance, medical needs, or other barriers to learning.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a PGCE who are looking for flexible work that allows them to use their teaching skills in a more personalised setting while making a genuine difference to vulnerable learners.


  • Location: Hampshire

  • Age Range: Primary, Secondary & Post-16

  • Start Date: September

  • Hours: Flexible

  • Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour

  • Type: 1:1 Tuition



Requirements


  • PGCE qualification
  • Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting, including teaching, tutoring, teaching assistant, mentoring, learning support, or similar roles
  • Ability to deliver engaging and personalised learning sessions
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Experience supporting learners with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable
  • Patient, adaptable, and learner-focused approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
  • Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally across Hampshire

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • ADHD
  • Anxiety and school avoidance
  • EHCPs and additional educational needs
  • Gaps in education due to periods out of school

Each learner requires a personalised approach, allowing you to use your teaching skills to build confidence, encourage engagement, and support progress.
