RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY SOLICITOR


_Part-time 24-30 hours per week Remote working available_


Job Summary


Alwena Jones & Bright Ltd is seeking a qualified Solicitor with experience in residential property and conveyancing to join our friendly and busy team.


The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of residential property transactions, providing clear legal advice and ensuring that all matters are handled efficiently and in accordance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements.


This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Residential Property Solicitor looking for a flexible role within a supportive and collaborative firm. The role can be undertaken fully remotely, although hybrid and office-based working options are also available.


What We Offer


Part-time working: approximately 24-30 hours per week
Salary: £35,000-£50,000 FTE, pro rata, depending on experience

Essential Requirements


Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales
Experience in residential property and conveyancing
Experience managing residential property transactions from instruction through to completion
Ability to manage a caseload effectively, with appropriate support where required
Excellent organisational, communication and client-care skills


We welcome applications from Solicitors at different stages of their careers. A specific level of post-qualification experience is not required, provided the applicant has relevant residential conveyancing experience and can demonstrate the practical knowledge and ability required for the role.


Desirable - Not Essential


Experience or knowledge of commercial property
Experience dealing with complex residential or leasehold transactions
Knowledge of other areas of law, such as family law or probate


Responsibilities


Managing a varied caseload of residential property transactions, including sales, purchases, remortgages and transfers of equity
Handling both freehold and leasehold matters
Drafting and reviewing contracts, transfer deeds and other legal documentation
Investigating title and raising or responding to enquiries
Reporting clearly to clients on title, searches and mortgage offers
Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders, mortgage brokers and other conveyancers
Providing clear advice regarding property rights, obligations and conveyancing procedures
Ensuring compliance with lender requirements and all relevant legal and regulatory obligations
Maintaining accurate file records and ensuring matters are progressed efficiently
Supporting junior colleagues and contributing to the continued development of departmental procedures where appropriate


Experience and Skills


The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of handling residential property transactions from initial instruction through to completion.


You will be proactive, organised and able to prioritise effectively when working to deadlines. You should have strong attention to detail, sound technical knowledge and a commitment to providing an excellent service to clients.
