Job description






Greater Washington Anesthesia Network (GWAN) is recruiting Certified Anesthesiologist Assistants to join our team at The George Washington University Hospital. This teaching institution has a very strong relationship within the APP group and with attendings and other O.R. staff. These positions are W2 and can be full-time or PRN.



Clinical Sites




George Washington University Hospital



  • Level 1 Trauma Center

  • 17 main ORs - General, ortho, ENT, plastics, neuro, urology, and GYN (rarely kidney, thoracic, liver)

  • Other OR sites - Endo, EP/IR, MRI, ambulatory surgery center

  • OB typically covered by residents

  • No pediatrics

  • No cardiac



Schedule



  • Provider preference for 8, 10, or 12 hour shifts

  • Timely, reliable breaks throughout the day

  • Strict relief times (out on time or early over 95% of the time)

  • No call

  • Occasional weekend and holiday coverage



Education



  • Graduation from an Anesthesiologist Assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Educational Programs



Licensure



  • Current and valid license to practice in Washington, D.C.

  • Anesthesiologist Assistant accreditation and certification through the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA)



Experience



  • A minimum of 1 year of prior Anesthesiologist Assistant experience post-graduation

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, etc.)

  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information

The Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences is committed to delivering superior care to patients from Washington D.C., the surrounding communities of Maryland and Virginia, and visiting dignitaries. Compensation



  • W2 Full-Time: $230,000 - $270,000 per year (depending on experience)

  • W2 PRN Hourly Rate: $180/hour

  • Benefits eligible on first clinical shift for full-time W2 positions (full-time is an average of 120 hours per month)
