Lifeguard - Hotel Water Park
Position Summary
The Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all guests utilizing the hotel's water park and aquatic facilities. This position provides vigilant supervision of pools, water attractions, slides, splash features, and surrounding deck areas while delivering exceptional guest service. Lifeguards are expected to prevent accidents through proactive monitoring, enforce facility rules, respond to emergencies, and maintain a clean and safe aquatic environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Continuously monitor pool, water slide, splash pad, lazy river, and other aquatic areas.
Recognize and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies.
Perform water rescues and provide first aid, CPR, and AED assistance when necessary.
Enforce all water park rules, safety regulations, and hotel policies consistently and professionally.
Identify hazardous conditions and immediately take corrective action or report concerns to management.
Conduct routine safety inspections of aquatic facilities and equipment.
Provide friendly, professional, and welcoming service to hotel guests.
Answer guest questions regarding water park operations, rules, and amenities.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of pool decks, seating areas, and aquatic attractions.
Assist with opening and closing procedures for aquatic facilities.
Complete required incident reports, inspection logs, and operational documentation accurately and timely.
Attend all required meetings, training sessions, and emergency drills.
Required Qualifications
Minimum age of 16 years old
Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification or equivalent.
Current CPR/AED Certification for Professional Rescuers.
Current First Aid Certification.
Ability to successfully complete hotel and department training programs.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous lifeguarding experience.
Experience working in a hotel, resort, water park, recreation center, or aquatic facility.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Bilingual skills are a plus.
Physical Requirements
Ability to swim continuously and meet all certification requirements.
Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, and climb for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to perform emergency rescues and render emergency care when required.
Work Environment
Indoor and/or outdoor water park setting.
Exposure to chlorinated water, cleaning chemicals, humidity, and varying temperatures.
Requires weekend, holiday, evening, and peak-season availability.
