Learning Support Assistant


Location: Lewisham

Contract Type: Monday to Fridays, 8.30am until 3.30pm

Salary: £100 - £117 per day

As schools prepare for the new academic year, we are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Assistants to support Secondary schools across Lewisham from September 2026.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

  • Provide classroom support across KS3, KS4, and KS5 settings
  • Work alongside teachers to deliver engaging and inclusive learning experiences
  • Support pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups where required
  • Encourage positive behaviour, confidence, and participation in learning
  • Help create a safe, nurturing, and supportive classroom environment
  • Adapt confidently to different schools and classroom settings


What We're Looking For

We welcome applications from individuals who have:

  • A Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, or relevant childcare qualification, or recent experience working with children
  • A positive, patient, and supportive approach to working with young learners
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Flexibility, reliability, and a willingness to work across different school settings
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
