Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer


Birmingham Hybrid Working (3 Days On Site)


Paying between £, depending on experience.

We're recruiting for an experienced Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join a global manufacturing company; this is a hands-on role focused on Azure, networking, infrastructure and security.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working across a broad technical environment, leading projects, solving complex technical issues and helping to drive continuous improvement across cloud and infrastructure services. You'll play a key role in designing, implementing and supporting modern technology solutions, whilst acting as a senior technical escalation point and mentor to junior team members.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and support Microsoft Azure infrastructure and services.
  • Manage Azure networking, security, governance and performance.
  • Support enterprise networking including routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs and WAN connectivity.
  • Administer Microsoft Intune and Entra ID environments.
  • Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform.
  • Build automation solutions using PowerShell.
  • Support Azure DevOps deployment processes.
  • Maintain and support SQL Server and Azure-based data services.
  • Act as a senior technical escalation point for infrastructure, cloud and network issues.
  • Contribute to cyber security initiatives and best practices.
  • Lead technical projects and infrastructure improvements.
  • Produce technical documentation and maintain operational standards.
  • Mentor junior team members and support the development of the wider IT function.


Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience designing, implementing and supporting Microsoft Azure environments.
  • Experience managing hybrid cloud and on-premise infrastructure.
  • Solid networking knowledge including routing, switching, VPNs, WAN connectivity and firewall technologies.
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Knowledge of Single Sign-On (SSO) and Enterprise Application Registrations.
  • Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.


Desirable Skills

  • Hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and modern deployment practices
  • Exposure to Azure SQL and cloud-based data platforms.
  • Knowledge of Azure Monitor and enterprise monitoring tools.
  • Experience working within multi-site or enterprise-scale environments.
  • Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305 or equivalent.


Hybrid working with 3 days per week in the Birmingham office.


Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential.


Paying up to £65,000, depending on experience.
