About Us:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive HSEQ Manager/Yard Manager to join our team and support the continual improvement of our Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality systems.
Role Overview:
As HSEQ Manager/Yard Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining compliance with industry regulations, supporting site teams, and driving a positive safety culture across the business. This is a varied role involving site visits, audits, and close liaison with management and operational staff.
You will assist the Operations Director at Alfreton on a day to day basis with the smooth running and management of the crane yard staff ensuring that loading and distribution activities are carried out safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the development, implementation, and monitoring of HSEQ policies and procedures.
Support managers and supervisors in ensuring compliance with legislation, standards, and company requirements.
Carry out site inspections, audits, risk assessments and training.
Maintain accident/incident records, conduct AIR investigations, and recommend corrective actions.
Advise and instruct on various HSEQ related topics such as working at heights, manual handling, noise levels, use of machinery and etc.
Promote a positive safety culture through toolbox talks, training, and awareness campaigns.
Support internal HSEQ management systems and assist with external audits.
Keep up to date with changes in HSEQ legislation and industry best practice.
Requirements:
Previous experience in an HSEQ role, ideally within construction, plant hire, lifting operations, or a similar industry.
Previous Supervisory experience in the plant hire or construction industry would be an advantage.
In depth knowledge of legislation and procedures with a specific requirement for LOLER 1998 and PUWER 1998 familiarisation.
NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (or working towards).
Knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and standards.
Computer literate and proficient in MS Office
Strong communication, influencing and training skills.
You must be able to work independently and travel to different sites when required.
A full UK driving licence is essential.
