Riada Resourcing is proud to partner with a leading waste management and environmental services provider operating across Northern Ireland in the recruitment of an experienced Transport Manager.

This key leadership role will oversee transport operations across multiple depot locations, ensuring the highest standards of compliance, efficiency, and service delivery. Reporting to the Group Transport Manager, the successful candidate will lead and develop transport teams, manage fleet and regulatory requirements, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to support business performance and customer satisfaction.

Key Duties:

• Managing the transport teams to ensure work is completed effectively and efficiently and consistent with Company standards/legal obligations.
• Overseeing the organising and scheduling of vehicles and transport staff and routes (both operational, administration and weighbridge) to optimise efficiencies.
• Overall responsibility to ensure that all drivers / helpers are operating in line with their legal obligations i.e. drivers' hours, rules and regulations
• Contamination Management - Oversee and implement procedures to monitor, identify, and reduce contamination in waste streams.
• To prepare and manage the Transport budget within the agreed parameters and drive efficiencies.
• Monitor and manage all Transport related incidents / accidents and liaising with appropriate personnel to conduct investigations etc.
• Liaise with HR to ensure that adequate staffing levels can meet operational requirements - participate in recruitment and selection procedures.
• Monitor and adapt to customer SLAs to ensure contractual obligations are met.

Criteria:

• Current Transport Manager CPC (International) qualification.
• Minimum 1 year's supervisory experience within a Transport Compliance, Transport Supervisor, or Transport Manager role.
• Strong knowledge of transport legislation, drivers' hours, and compliance requirements.
• Proven leadership and people management skills.
• Experience managing budgets and KPIs.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and IT skills.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between depot locations.
• Flexible approach to working hours.
