7.5 Tonne Driver with Labouring Duties

Larne

£14.13 per hour

Temporary (Initially 3 Months)

37 Hours per Week Monday to Friday

Start Date: ASAP

We are currently recruiting for a 7.5 Tonne Driver with Labouring Duties based in Larne. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy operational team, providing essential environmental and community services across the borough.

Please note that, due to operational requirements, occasional work outside normal hours, including weekends, evenings and public holidays, may be required.

Essential Criteria

  • Valid Category C1 Driving Licence with a maximum of 6 penalty points
  • No driving disqualifications within the past 5 years
  • Valid Driver CPC Card
  • Minimum of 1 year's frequent commercial driving experience
  • Ability to successfully complete a driving assessment

Main Duties (Summary)

  • Carry out daily vehicle safety inspections and routine maintenance checks.
  • Drive and operate allocated vehicles safely and in compliance with road traffic and transport regulations.
  • Use analogue/digital tachographs and onboard vehicle systems.
  • Ensure the safety of colleagues, the public and the vehicle at all times.
  • Operate plant, tools and equipment safely and effectively.
  • Assist with street cleansing, litter picking, waste collection, recycling and environmental maintenance duties.
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, breakdowns, fly tipping and other environmental issues.
  • Complete daily logs, records and operational paperwork.
  • Clean, fuel and maintain vehicles and equipment to required standards.
  • Provide support across refuse collection, recycling and street cleansing services as required.
  • Undertake duties in all weather conditions, including gritting and snow clearance when necessary.
  • Assist with public recycling initiatives and community engagement activities.
  • Participate in training and support new and casual staff where required.
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Provide key holder responsibilities for depot/building access where required.
