Job Description:


We're searching for a compassionate and motivated Housing Support Worker to join our team, supporting young people across our accommodation services and within the community.

Providing young people with flexible, person-centred support, this position assists with securing and sustaining housing, improving their wellbeing and achieving positive life outcomes.


In this role, you will be at the heart of building positive, professional and trusting relationships, creating a safe and encouraging environment where our young people can feel empowered to take steps towards a greater independence, achieving goals that matter to them.


Key Responsibilities


To deliver high-quality, person centred support to young people in both accommodation and community settings.
Supporting individuals to develop independence in key areas including managing accommodation, budgeting, rent and debt, health and wellbeing, building positive relationships and social networks.
Assisting young people to access education, training, employment or volunteering opportunities.
Developing and reviewing personal support plans, enabling young people to set and achieve their own goals.
Working collaboratively with partner agencies to improve the outcomes for our young people.


Housing Management Duties


To carry out key housing management tasks including rent collection and administration, reporting of repairs and maintenance issues, together with completing health and safety checks.
Ensure properties are safe, clean and welcoming environments
Encourage residents to comply with house rules and tenancy/licence agreements.


Team and Service Contribution


Working flexibly across our projects within the Mendip and South Somerset area.
Maintaining accurate, confidential records as well as contribute to reports.
To participate in team meetings, service development, and partnership work.
To contribute ideas to the ongoing improvement of services and outcomes.
Complete our company induction and all required training.


About You


This role calls for your confidence and capability to work independently and within a team environment, so you you'll need to feel comfortable working alone, whilst being skilled in engaging with complex and challenging behaviours, with empathy and professionalism. You will be a great communicator, both written and verbally, whilst being able to manage a varied caseload, in an organised, reliable and proactive way.


Whilst having experience in support or housing work would be a great advantage, this is not essential.

Location - Yeovil, Somerset


Hours - 37.5 hrs a week on a set working rota


Salary - £13.91/hr


Annual Leave - 5 weeks plus any worked bank holidays, pro rata
