Class 2 Recovery Driver (Training Provided)
Requirements: Valid License, CPC, and Digital Tacho Card
The Opportunity
Are you a professional driver looking for a role that offers more variety than standard multi-drop? Join our specialist recovery team. We are seeking a reliable Class 2 Recovery Driver to handle the safe retrieval and transport of disabled or damaged vehicles.
Whether you are an experienced recovery operator or a professional driver looking to start a new career, we want to hear from you. Full specialist recovery training will be provided for the right candidate.
Working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern with either 10am-10pm and 12pm-12am shifts.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Recovery: Safely and efficiently loading, securing, and transporting disabled or damaged vehicles using Class 2 flatbed recovery trucks.
Technical Assessment: Inspecting vehicles on-site for mechanical issues and, where possible, performing basic roadside assistance.
Professional Communication: Acting as a calm and professional point of contact for clients at the roadside and coordinating effectively with our dispatch team.
Safety & Compliance: Adhering to all road safety regulations, securing loads to industry standards, and maintaining accurate tacho-graph records.
Requirements
Licensing: You must possess a valid driving license suitable for 7.5T and Class 2 vehicles.
Compliance: A valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card are essential.
Mechanical Aptitude: A basic understanding of vehicle mechanics is a significant advantage.
Skills: Excellent communication skills and a "customer-first" mindset, especially when dealing with motorists in stressful situations.
Physical Fitness: The role involves manual handling, including the operation of winches and securing heavy loads in all weather conditions.
Experience
Recovery: Previous experience in vehicle recovery is preferred but not essential as full training is provided.
Driving: Proven experience operating vans or commercial vehicles safely.
Local Knowledge: A good understanding of the local road network is beneficial for efficient response times.
