Job Summary
The OC Kitchen has a rare opening for a Senior Chef De Partie to join their talented Kitchen crew.
If you're someone who loves great ingredients, thrives on rhythm of a busy kitchen, and believes a well run section is one of life's joys, then this is the perfect position for you.
At The Old Coastguard we believe in the simple things in life done well, a perfectly cooked piece of local fish, home made bread fresh from the oven, a dining room full of happy guests and the smell of good food, what more could you want.
We cook with the seasons, pride ourselves on working with local suppliers, and aim to make every guest leave feeling full, satisfied and eager to return.
We understand that life doesn't always fit neatly into a rota, so we offer flexibility where we can and appreciate the value of a healthy work life balance.
Start date: ASAP. Fixed term until October 2026
Pay: £13.75 per hour plus a share of tronc
Hours: Up to 48 hours per week, with a minimum of 35 hours guaranteed. (Up to 5 days with 2 consecutive days off and an avoidance of split shifts), to include evenings and weekends.
What you'll do:
- Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes to consistently high standards
- Keeping a well organised, clean and stocked section throughout service
- Provide support to the Head Chef and Senior Sous with menu planning and development
- Mentoring and helping to develop the Junior team, providing support and guidance for the future Kitchen superstars
What we're looking for:
- A talented CDP who's ready for that _next step up_ - or a seasoned senior looking for a place that actually cares
- Someone who loves food, teamwork, and a good laugh during prep
- Passion for sustainability and local produce
- A cool head under pressure and a warm heart in service
