Job description


Job Title: Inside Sales Representative



Compensation: $60,000- $70,000 + target monthly incentive and full benefits



This is a hybrid role, so candidates must be local to the Chicagoland area and able to work on-site as required



Position Summary:


The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for cultivating strong relationships with customers, quoting, processing orders, providing product information, and supporting outside sales efforts.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Respond to inbound inquiries via phone and email, providing quotes, product details, and order status updates

  • Communicate with existing and prospective customers to promote products and services

  • Prepare and follow up on sales quotations, pricing, and product availability

  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales orders, and communications in SAP, CRM and ERP systems

  • Collaborate with the operations and logistics teams to ensure on-time order fulfillment

  • Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products or services

  • Support outside sales representatives by providing strong customer service and facilitating regular communication

  • Monitor open orders, back-orders, and shipping issues to ensure customer satisfaction

  • Participate in sales meetings and training to stay current with product knowledge and market trends

  • Meet or exceed individual sales and productivity targets

  • All other duties assigned



Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred

  • 5+ years of inside sales, customer service, or related experience (manufacturing/industrial preferred)

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP system

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment



Preferred Skills:



  • Experience in steel, manufacturing, or technical product sales

  • Familiarity with order entry systems and supply chain coordination

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings or specifications
