We are looking for a skilled HGV, Plant & Equipment Fitter to join our team, responsible for maintaining, servicing and repairing a diverse fleet of HGVs, trailers, and plant equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
Service, inspect and maintain HGVs, trailers (including bulk pressurised tanks), and plant equipment
Carry out fault diagnosis and repairs across mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems
Prepare vehicles and trailers for annual testing and ensure compliance with Operator's Licence standards
Maintain accurate service and repair records
Respond to breakdowns and minimise operational downtime
About You
Proven experience with HGVs, plant or similar heavy equipment
Experience with hydraulic and electrical systems
Strong diagnostics and fault-finding capability
Reliable, proactive and able to manage workload effectively
Committed to high safety and compliance standards
Flexible approach to duties and working hours
Requirements
_ Essential _
o Full UK driving licence
o HGV Class 1 licence (training may be provided for the right candidate)
o NVQ Level 2/3 (or equivalent)
_ Preferable _
o Plant maintenance certificate / experience with Volvo loading shovels and forklift trucks
o Welding and fabrications skills
o IRTEC accreditation
