Key Responsibilities
Carry out scheduled deliveries and collections in accordance with daily route plans
Ensure all goods are transported securely to prevent damage during transit
Load and unload vehicles safely, using appropriate manual handling techniques or equipment
Perform daily vehicle walkaround checks and report defects in line with company and legal requirements
Maintain vehicle cleanliness and ensure the vehicle is operated safely at all times
Accurately complete delivery notes, PODs (Proof of Delivery), tachograph records, and any company documentation
Operate tachograph equipment correctly and comply fully with Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive regulations
Plan routes efficiently, taking into account traffic, delivery windows, and site access restrictions
Communicate effectively with the transport office regarding delivery progress, delays, or issues
Provide a professional and courteous service when interacting with customers and members of the public
Adhere to all company health & safety policies, safe systems of work, and risk assessments
Report accidents, incidents, damages, or near misses promptly
Assist warehouse staff with loading, unloading, or basic yard duties when required
Ensure compliance with all transport legislation and company policies at all times
To succeed you will:
Have previous HGV Class 2 experience
Multidrop delivery experience
Be dynamic and have a professional approach.
Demonstrate a commitment to developing you own knowledge and abilities.
Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Have exceptional organisational skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
Be a strong team player.
Be agile and adapt to changing business needs.
Job Type: Full-time
