Position Summary
Responsibilities
- Provides psychiatric evaluations, medication management and follow-up for scheduled or standby patients.
- Provides and receives effective consultation, internally and externally, to coordinate patient care effectively.
- Completes all required documentation within timeframes specified in the MultiCare Health System Ambulatory Electronic Health Record Completion policy.
- Demonstrates a positive attitude and efforts toward meeting the needs of internal and external customers.
- Attend and participate in team meetings and other agency meetings as requested.
- Provides back-up coverage for absent medical staff as needed.
- Provide regularly scheduled caseload consultation to Mental Health Therapist.
- Requires adherence to practice standards, agency standards, contracts, and Washington Administrative Codes.
- May supervise graduate medical students (nurse practitioner students, residents).
- Expert knowledge of psychotropic medications.
- Excellent assessment, evaluation, and clinical skills
- Demonstrate effective de-escalation skills.
Requirements
- Meets state of Washington licensure requirements by the time of employment.
- Advanced Reg Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive authority license - Washington Department of Health.
- American Nurses Credentialing Center Board Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Across the Lifespan) Certification (PMHNP-BC ) or if one of the following active certifications (available for renewal only).
- Adult Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certification (PMHNP-BC)
- Adult Psychiatric-Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist Certification (PMHCNS-BC)
- Child/Adolescent Psychiatric-Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist Certification (PMHCNS-BC)
- Current Health Care Provider level BLS certification such as American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- DEA, NPI & prescriptive authority.
