The Role
We are looking for a talented and passionate Pastry Chef to join our experienced kitchen team of 12. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality desserts, pastries and baked goods for our 2-rosette restaurant, afternoon teas and a busy events operation within our popular hotel.
Working closely with the Head Chef, you will be responsible for preparing fresh, locally sourced ingredients for a wide range of menus, ensuring consistency, quality and presentation are maintained at all times. From elegant plated desserts and afternoon teas to buffets and large-scale events for up to 200 guests, your work will be varied and rewarding.
You will also have responsibility for managing your section, assisting with stock control and ordering, and ensuring all health, safety and hygiene standards are upheld. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-standard kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Preparing and presenting high-quality desserts, pastries and baked goods to an exceptional standard
Leading the pastry section and supporting the wider kitchen team when required
Assisting with menu development, seasonal changes and creative input
Ensuring all dietary requirements and allergens are fully understood and adhered to
Maintaining strict food hygiene, health and safety standards at all times
Monitoring stock levels and minimising waste within your section
Working efficiently to tight service deadlines and event schedules
Supporting and mentoring commis chefs, sharing knowledge and best practices
Maintaining clear communication with the kitchen and Front of House teams
Knowledge and Experience
We are looking for a Pastry Chef with a genuine passion for patisserie and dessert creation. You will have previous experience in a hotel kitchen or restaurant of a similar standard, with strong knowledge of pastry techniques, kitchen regulations and food safety.
You will be a dedicated team player with a positive, hands-on approach, excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail. The ideal candidate will work well under pressure, take pride in their work and be eager to develop within a professional and supportive kitchen environment.
The Hotel
The Spa Hotel is an independent 4-star hotel with 70 bedrooms and a beautiful Spa. With 8 event spaces, a stunning outdoor wedding temple and 14 acres of picturesque grounds, the hotel is a thriving hospitality destination welcoming a wide variety of guests throughout the year.
