ATC West Healthcare Services is seeking a locum tenens Interventional Radiologist to provide general IR coverage. The role focuses on a broad range of IR procedures, with stroke thrombectomy capabilities preferred but not required. This is an ongoing need beginning in early 2026 due to existing locums taking an extended break.
Dates / Schedule
Start: March 2026 (possible February availability)
Duration: Ongoing
Day Shift: 8:00 AM 4:00 PM (8-hour on-site day)
Weekday Call: 4:00 PM 8:00 AM
Weekend Call: 24-hour call coverage
Average Procedures (Day Shift):
Average Callback Hours:Weekday: 2.5 hours
Weekend: 1.3 hours
Provide general Interventional Radiology coverage
Handle emergency call-backs as needed (primarily for urgent cases)
No diagnostic reads required between IR cases
Coverage includes weekday, evening, and weekend call
EMR system: Epic
Reason for coverage: Existing locums taking a 6-month break
Clinical Experience (Required):
Provider must have general IR experience and be able to independently perform the full list of procedures below:
Diagnostic & therapeutic angiography (venous/arterial)
Angioplasty & stenting (venous/arterial)
Thrombolysis & embolization therapies
Vascular access devices, PICCs, central lines, ports
IVC filters, TIPS
Drainages, aspirations, biopsies (including bone)
Biliary & renal extractions
Thoracentesis, paracentesis
Myelography, pain management procedures
PTC, blood patches, joint/epidural injections
Vertebroplasty, arthrograms, chest tubes
Uterine artery embolization
Liver Y90/TACE
G-tubes, nephrostomy & ureteral stents
Renal fistulograms, cryoablation
Preferred (Not Required):
Neuro IR / stroke thrombectomy
Licensing & Certification:
Board Certified Required
North Dakota license or IMLC Required
IR residency/fellowship Required
ACLS & BLS Required
Clean malpractice history Preferred
Credentialing:
Timeframe: days
ND license required prior to credentialing
NPDB self-query dated within 30 days of submission
Must complete full procedure checklist (Yes/No) and include in submission notes
