Neonatal Nurse Practitioner opening in Augusta, GAEmployment Type: Full-TimePermanent positionKey Responsibilities: - Clinical Care: Provide direct, high-quality care to neonates in the NICU, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of critically ill newborns and preterm infants - Collaboration: Work closely with neonatologists, pediatricians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to patient care - Procedural Support: Assist in neonatal procedures such as intubation, central line insertion, lumbar punctures, and other NICU-related procedures, as needed - Rounds and Documentation: Conduct daily rounds, including progress notes, assessments, and care plans for neonates in the NICU, ensuring timely and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) - Education & Training: Provide education and support to families of neonates, addressing concerns and providing guidance on infant care, development, and health issues - Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives, adhering to clinical protocols and evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes - On-Call Availability: Provide on-call support as needed, working with neonatology teams for urgent or emergent cases in the NICU Schedule: - This is a full-time position with benefits - The work schedule consists of 12-hour or 24-hour shifts, with APPs typically working either from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM or 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM - For those working 24-hour shifts, the expectation is to be scheduled for seven 24-hour shifts for ten months of the year, and eight 24-hour shifts for two months - For those working 12-hour shifts, the expectation is to be scheduled for fourteen 12-hour shifts for eight months of the year, and fifteen 12-hour shifts for four months of the year - The average daily census is 40 patients, with about 3 new admissions per day. - On average, each APP will manage 8-12 patients per shift : - Education: Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) with a focus on neonatology. - Licensing: Current licensure as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the state of Georgia or ability to obtain a NP license in the state of Georgia. - Certification: Board certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP). - Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a neonatal intensive care setting or related pediatric care environment (preferred)Preferred Qualifications: - Experience working in a Level III or Level IV NICU. - Advanced neonatal resuscitation and stabilization training (NRP). - BLS and ACLS certification Why work here? - Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package - Opportunities for professional growth and development - Collaborative, patient-focused work environment - Work-life balance with flexible scheduling options - Access to cutting-edge technology and medical resources
