Job description


DocStar Medical Partners is seeking 1 2 Interventional Radiologists (MD/DO) for an ongoing locum opportunity at a medical center in Kentucky.


Location: Kentucky

Facility Type: Medical Center

Start Date: April 6, 2026

Assignment Length: 6 12 months (ongoing potential)

Credentialing: 6 8 weeks (faster with KY/OH licenses)

Schedule & Structure


  • Rotation: 2 weeks on / 1 week off


    • Week 1: Call week (7 days)


    • Week 2: Outpatient procedures (Monday Friday)


    • Week 3: Off




  • Typical Hours: 7:30 AM 4:30 PM (may extend for urgent/emergent cases)


  • Weekend Cases: Primarily during call week (urgent only)

Clinical Volume


  • Primary IR: 15 cases/day


  • Secondary IR: 10 cases/day


  • Call-outs: 5/week (majority on weekends)

  • Mix of inpatient & outpatient cases

Procedures Required

  • Stroke thrombectomy

  • Pulmonary embolism (PE) interventions

  • Biopsies, drains, ports, central lines

  • Dialysis access, nephrostomies

  • Embolizations, IVC filters, TIPS

  • Paracentesis, thoracentesis, cryoablation, and more

Facility & Support


  • EMR: Epic


  • PACS: Intellispace


  • Equipment: Philips


  • Procedure Locations: IR suite & CT



Robust support team includes:



  • 2 IR physicians onsite weekdays (no solo work except call)

  • 3 APPs (2 weekdays / 1 weekends) handling consults & follow-ups

  • Dedicated IR nurses + 4 advanced-certified rad techs


  • Anesthesia support available


  • Strong surgical backup: vascular, neuro, and general surgery

Requirements

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Interventional Radiology


  • Kentucky license required (Ohio license preferred but not required)

  • Full IR procedural competency
