Cardiology - Interventional Physician

This is a locum tenens Interventional Cardiologist position providing inpatient care and call coverage. The role supports a potential gap due to a departing cardiology group and involves both scheduled daytime shifts and extensive on-call responsibilities. The physician will perform a range of interventional cardiology procedures and manage adult and geriatric patients in a hospital setting.

• 
  Specific May Call Dates: 2, 4, 6, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 20, 22, 25, 27, 29, 31


• 
  Call Structure: STEMI call aligned with unassigned and noninvasive call


• 
  Call Ratio: Approx. 9 VCS to 7 RHV (TBD)

• Provide inpatient and on-call interventional cardiology coverage
  


• Perform procedures including:
  
  
  • Balloon angioplasty, coronary angioplasty, PCI
  
  
  • Heart catheterization and coronary angiograms
  
  
  • Carotid artery stenting, atherectomy, embolic protection
  
  
  • Medical management of vascular disease
  
  
  
  


• Manage
  


• Work alongside other interventional cardiologists (team coverage present)


• No supervisory responsibilities


• Use EPIC EMR system for documentation

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 
  Board Certified in Cardiology (Required)


• 
  BLS and ACLS certifications (Required)


• 
  Active Virginia medical license (Required)


• 
  Clean malpractice history (Required)


• 
  NPDB Self-Query report (dated within 30 days, required at submission)


• Experience performing a wide range of interventional cardiology procedures
