We are seeking an experienced Marine Electrical Installation Engineer to join our growing team. The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee and perform electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance on marine vessels. The successful candidate should possess a strong technical background in marine electrical systems and be capable of working independently to ensure the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems onboard.


Duties & Responsibilities


Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain marine electrical systems, including power distribution, charging, lighting, communication, entertainment systems, control panels, and navigation equipment.


Conduct inspections and assessments of marine electrical systems to identify and diagnose any issues or areas for improvement.


Plan, coordinate, and execute electrical installation and repair projects on various marine vessels.


Conduct electrical load calculations and determine appropriate wire sizes, circuit protection, and grounding requirements for marine vessels.


Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and electrical schematics to ensure accurate and precise installations.


Collaborate with other departments and external contractors as needed to ensure timely completion of electrical projects.


Support the Electrical Design team on system development, testing and installations.


Support Quality Control team to ensure the continued efficiency and reliability of electrical systems and installations.


Provide technical support and guidance to production crew members and other engineers regarding the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems.


Stay up to date with technological advancements, industry trends, and regulations related to marine electrical systems.


Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.


Requirements


Proven experience in marine electrical installations and repairs, preferably in a maritime or shipyard environment.


Relevant background in electrical engineering or related experience within Marine, automotive, aerospace or motorsports related field is preferred.


Sound understanding and experience with 12V DC battery systems.


Strong technical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues efficiently.


Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and electrical schematics.


Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations, such as the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards.


Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functional departments and external stakeholders.


Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.


Basic computer skills and proficiency in relevant software applications for electrical design and analysis.


Willingness to work in a dynamic, fast moving and sometimes challenging environment, including offshore and on-board marine vessels.


Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as globally as required.
