Inpatient ICU & Step Down Units

St. Joseph s Health Hospital is seeking two (2) full time Advanced Practice Providers (NP or PA) to join their Cardiac Surgery ICU / Step Down Team. This opportunity is available due to an employee resignation and offers consistent weekday hours in a collaborative critical care environment.

Coverage Dates

• 
  June 1 October 2
  

️ Schedule

• 
  Monday Friday
  


• 
  Day/Evening shifts
  


• 
  40 hours minimum per week
  


• May increase to up to 50 hours/week based on service needs


• No OR coverage required

Practice Setting

• Inpatient ICU and step down unit coverage
  


• Adult patient population


• Average daily workload:
  
  
  • Up to 10 notes per day
    
  
  
  • Phone coverage for all inpatients
  
  
  
  

Scope & Responsibilities

• Non operative cardiac surgery ICU role


• Autonomous APP practice with strong physician support


• Supervising physicians and Critical Care physicians onsite
  

Procedures include:

• Central line placement


• Arterial line placement


• Chest tube placement


• Chest tube removal


• Wound vac changes

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Open to Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  


• ICU / Critical Care experience required


• 
  Cardiac critical care experience preferred
  


• Inpatient medicine with cardiology focus highly desirable
  


• Comfortable working autonomously in an acute care setting

Technology

• 
  EMR: Epic

• Estimated timeframe: 6 weeks
