Job Summary:
- Shift 8am to 8am, 24-hour shifts; 1 day (24 hours) off between shifts is acceptable
- Coverage Model: In house with 2 nd OB MD in the community as back up each shift
- Average pt volume: 1-3 deliveries, 10 triages, 1-2 ER/Medicine unit consults, 2100 yearly volume
- Inpatient only
- Procedures required: C/Sections, Operative Vaginal Deliveries, D&C, Laparotomy/ Laparoscopy for emergency Gyn surgery
- % of High/Low risk: Approx 40% high risk that are presented to the Laborist service
- % C-sections vs. Natural births: Primary c/s rate 12% for our service
- EMR: Meditech
