Position Type: Locum Tenens OB/GYN Hospitalist Physician
Location: Davenport, Iowa (Zip: 52803) Mississippi River city with vibrant healthcare community, scenic parks, and arts scene
Healthcare Setting: Hospital-based OB/GYN unit, Level III Trauma Center
Start Date: November 24, 2025
Contract Duration: 13 weeks, with potential extension
Shifts: 12-hour (8a-8p) or 24-hour (8a-8a) in-house call shifts, scheduled in advance
Hours per Week: Approximately 36
Coverage: Weekday and weekend shifts required

OB/GYN Hospitalist Qualifications
- Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN)
- Active Iowa medical license or IMLC eligibility
- Fetal monitoring proficiency
- Minimum 1 year recent OB/GYN hospitalist experience
- Clean malpractice and background history
- Ability to provide two professional references (one supervisory)
- Willingness to work Monday through Friday, plus weekend availability
OB/GYN Hospitalist Responsibilities
- Triage and deliver hospital OB patients (average 65-80 deliveries/month)
- Respond to OB/GYN ER calls and round on unit patients
- Manage low and high-risk pregnancies (approx. 40% low risk, 60% high risk)
- Perform routine and complicated deliveries: vaginal, C-section, breech, multiple births
- Conduct obstetric procedures: FHR interpretation, NST/CST/FSE, OB ultrasounds, amniocentesis
- Perform labor and delivery procedures: repair of 3rd/4th degree lacerations, VBACs
- Provide gynecologic surgical care: tubal ligation, ectopic pregnancy management, cystectomy, laparoscopic diagnostics
- Collaborate with physicians, certified nurse midwives, and clinical support staff in labor & delivery, postpartum, OR, and ER
- Document patient care using Cerner EMR
