General Surgicalist Job on the Eastern Florida Coast Seeking 7 on 7 off Schedule Starting June & Ongoing

Jackson and Coker is partnered with a facility on the eastern Florida coast that needs General Surgery Surgicalist coverage (7 on, 7 off schedule) starting in late June and ongoing. The facility is actively recruiting for two permanent Surgeons to join their team but are using locums in the interim to cover the service line.



Dates of coverage:

Seeking a 7 on, 7 off schedule starting in June
Prefers to work with 1 Surgeon to fill both weeks but will consider working with 2 to each cover 1 week per month
Ideal candidates will have flexible schedules and be able to work with the facility's specific scheduling needs



Emergency Privileges Requirements:

- Must be able to provide two leadership references and one peer reference from the last 24 months
- Must be able to provide up to date case logs
- Must have a clean background / no criminal history

Details/Requirements for Assignment :

Active Florida license + current DEA required
Seeking currently Board Certified General Surgeons
Will work at one facility at a time but get credentialed at three to eliminate the need for additional credentialing in the future
Schedule: will work from 7A-7P in the hospital & cover night call from 7P - 7A
Inpatient call coverage will be for ED patients, will be required to see new consults, complete daily patient rounding & do emergent procedures
Daily volume: Can anticipate an average of 4 new consults per day & up to 10 on the floor, approximately 10-15 procedures per week
Will have APP support in the hospital to help with rounding & work as 1st assist in the OR (the APP is often shared between two facilities as needed)
No elective cases/outpatient work, no scopes, true bread & butter general/acute care surgery
Robotic capabilities present at the facility (this is not a requirement)
Preference for local Florida candidates (also not a requirement)
Facility detail: 490+ bed facility, not a designated trauma center, will be required to get credentialed at 3 facilities (will only cover ONE at a time)
