The provider will focus on managing hematology and oncology cases in a clinic setting with a consistent weekday schedule and no call responsibilities. The role offers a steady, lower-volume workload with strong team collaboration. Dates / Schedule
Coverage Period: September 1, 2026 January 18, 2027
Schedule: Monday Wednesday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
Call: None (no weekends or on-call duties)
Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 120 days
Job Details / Responsibilities
Setting: Outpatient cancer center
Patient Population: Adult and geriatric
Patient Volume:
- Outpatient: 13 patients/day
- Inpatient (rounding/call): 2 patients/day (minimal)
Practice Composition:
- 60% hematology, 40% oncology
Team Structure:
EMR: EPIC
Hospital Affiliation: Level II Trauma Center
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide outpatient hematology and oncology care
- Conduct patient evaluations and follow-ups
- Order and interpret labs and imaging
- Prescribe treatments and manage care plans
- Participate in tumor board discussions
- Collaborate with nursing staff (chemotherapy administered by nurse oncologists)
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Board Certified or truly Board Eligible in Hematology & Oncology (required)
- Active Ohio license (preferred)
- BLS certification (required)
- Clean background (required)
- Full availability for the assignment dates and schedule (required)
- NPDB Self-Query report (dated within 30 days of submission) (required)
