SEND Teaching Assistant - Primary ALN

Location: Barry
Contract: Full-time
Start Date: Immediate (subject to vetting clearance)
Salary: Competitive daily rate

We are currently recruiting for a committed and resilient Primary ALN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Barry. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference by supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), including those who may present with challenging behaviour.

You will play a key role in helping pupils access learning, develop positive behaviours, and thrive within a structured and supportive environment.

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with ALN

• Support children displaying challenging behaviour using consistent strategies

• Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and structured lessons
  

• Implement individual behaviour and support plans
  

• Promote a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
  

We are seeking individuals who:

• Have experience working with primary-aged children or within an ALN/SEND setting

• Are confident in managing challenging behaviour in a calm and consistent manner

• Possess strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
  

• Demonstrate a patient, resilient, and proactive approach
  

• Are passionate about supporting children with additional needs
