Description: Overview A hospital in Syracuse, NY is seeking an experienced Orthopedic Surgery Physician Assistant (PA) for a locum assignment. This role includes a mix of inpatient rounding, OR coverage, and call responsibilities in a structured surgical environment.

• Schedule:
• : In-house rounding + OR coverage
• : Night call
• 24-hour call on weekends
• Work in both inpatient and surgical (OR) settings
• Autonomous role with supervising physician available
• Exposure to high-volume orthopedic procedures
• EPIC EMR system
Facility Details • Practice includes inpatient care and OR support
• Supervising physician present in OR and available via phone for floor call
• Patient population: Adults (18+)
• Credentialing timeframe: 30 days
Procedures:
• Total Knee Replacement (TKR)
• Shoulder Replacement
• Hip Replacement
Candidate Requirements NCCPA Certification REQUIRED
Active New York License REQUIRED
BLS & ACLS Certifications REQUIRED
Orthopedic surgical experience required (No new grads)
NPDB Self-Query report within same month REQUIRED
Credentialing Documentation Required Providers should have the following ready to expedite credentialing:
• PA program diploma
• Certifications (NCCPA)
• Active state license
• BLS / ACLS certifications
• DEA (if applicable)
• Certificates of insurance
• Driver s license
• Professional headshot
• CME records
• Immunization records
• NPDB report (within 30 days)
• References
