Join Our Team as a Locum OB Hospitalist in Christiansburg, VA Make a Difference in Women's Healthcare

Are you a dedicated physician seeking a rewarding locum opportunity to impact women's health in a vibrant community? We are currently seeking a skilled OB Hospitalist to provide expert obstetric care on a flexible, temporary basis. This pivotal role offers the chance to collaborate with a dynamic healthcare team, delivering high-quality care to mothers and newborns in a supportive environment. Your expertise will ensure safe deliveries and comprehensive care for both patients and staff, all while enjoying a competitive hourly rate.

Required Skills:

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution

  • Board certification or eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology

  • Valid medical license to practice in Virginia

  • Proven experience in OB hospitalist or inpatient obstetric care

  • Ability to handle emergent gynecological situations efficiently

  • Strong clinical judgment and excellent communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team



Nice to Have Skills:

  • Experience with high-risk pregnancies or Level 3 NICU settings

  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems

  • Bilingual abilities to serve diverse patient populations

  • Additional certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)



Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)

  • At least 2 years of recent OB hospitalist experience

  • Prior work in a hospitalized obstetric setting with emergency GYN coverage



Other Requirements:

  • Ability to start on or before 02/01/2026

  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced, high-volume delivery environment

  • Compliance with all federal, state, and local licensing and credentialing requirements

  • Travel reimbursement and licensure support provided where applicable
