Description: We re excited to announce opportunities for Advanced Practice Providers to join the University of New Mexico Hospital the state s only Level I Trauma and academic teaching hospital


Job Summary:


The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will provide comprehensive inpatient care within the Neurosurgery service. This role involves clinical responsibilities in both acute and urgent care settings and includes functioning as a practitioner, mentor, educator, consultant, and team collaborator. The APP will support patient care across all age groups neonatal through geriatric while aligning with departmental and hospital-wide goals and standards. New grads are welcome to apply. A $100/night stipend is in addition to base pay.



Compensation:(Compensation is based on experience, education, and other factors.)



Minimum: $53.29/hr
Maximum: $74.90/hr
Sign On bonus: Up to $15,000



Position Details:

Key Responsibilities:



  • Patient Care: Assess, diagnose, and manage treatment plans; perform exams, order tests, and interpret results.

  • Documentation: Accurately document patient care, orders, and procedures.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with medical, nursing, and ancillary staff to ensure continuity of care.

  • Education: Provide patient and family education on care plans and preventative health.

  • Safety: Ensure adherence to safety protocols and report concerns as needed.

  • Team Leadership: Serve as a resource for staff and lead by example with strong communication and problem-solving skills.


Qualifications:



  • Education: Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant (required).

  • Experience: At least 1 year of relevant experience.

  • Certifications: CPR, ACLS/PALS, State Licensure, DEA Certification (required).


Physical and Work Conditions:



  • Physical Demand: Moderate physical work, including lifting up to 50 lbs.

  • Hazardous Conditions: Exposure to chemicals and biohazardous materials; PPE required.


APP Benefits Package:



  • Annual Leave: 20 days per year (accrued at 6.16 hours per pay period); prorated based on FTE. Eligibility begins after 5 months of employment.

  • Educational Leave: 56 hours of paid educational leave per year (non-rollover).

  • CME Allowance: $1,110 annually, prorated based on FTE.

  • DEA License: Covered by employer upon hire.

  • Night Shift Stipend: $100 per night for night shift roles.

  • Uniform: Lab coat provided in lieu of scrubs.

  • Amenities: Access to provider lounge at main hospital.

  • Malpractice Insurance: Fully covered by the hospital.
