Position Summary


The Community Stroke Educator is responsible for creating and delivering stroke education programs to community stakeholders. This will include programs designed to educate on the causes of stroke, signs and symptoms of stroke, and prevention of stroke. By providing the tools to better understand the possible outcomes of stroke, the community educator empowers people to take control of their own health and have better outcomes.








Essential Duties & Responsibilities




  • Collaborate with Stroke Coordinator within Quality Department to develop effective educational training materials to be delivered to Middlesex community, business, healthcare, and educational/religious organizations




  • Identify and develop key partnerships with community organizations in order to deliver stroke education programs with goal to collectively address the prevention of stroke




  • Contact respective community organizations and coordinate stroke education events, with minimum of three delivered annually




  • Deliver high quality stroke education program to identified community organizations in order educate on causes, signs, symptoms, and prevention of stroke




  • Develop effective tracking documentation and feedback from stakeholders related to stroke education programs




  • Other job related duties as assigned.






Minimum Qualifications





  • 5+ years clinical experience in clinical role which includes active knowledge of causes, signs, symptoms and prevention of stroke




  • Certification or licensure in clinical area that reflects knowledge of the causes, signs, symptoms and prevention of stroke (including but not limited to: RN, OT, PT, Paramedic, EMT)




  • Strong verbal and written communication skills




  • Strong organizational skills




  • Strong presentation/public speaking skills
