HGV & PSV Mechanic / Technician | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Description: We are looking for an experienced and motivated HGV & PSV Technician / Mechanic to join our team at ProTruck Exeter Ltd. You will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing HGVs, PSVs, and trailers, working to high standards of safety and efficiency. This is a varied role where you will work both independently and as part of a team, ensuring vehicles are roadworthy, compliant, and back in service as quickly as possible. Key Responsibilities: Carry out servicing, inspections, MOT preparations, diagnostics, and repairs on HGVs, PSVs, and trailers. Perform Preventive Maintenance Inspections (PMIs) and complete all associated paperwork accurately. Diagnose faults using modern diagnostic equipment and rectify issues in a timely manner. Work flexibly, either solo or as part of a team, depending on workload and requirements. Ensure workshop standards are kept safe, clean, and compliant with health and safety procedures. Support breakdowns and roadside repairs where required. Maintain accurate service records and complete job sheets to a high standard. Requirements: Proven experience as a HGV & PSV Technician / Mechanic, preferably with trailers and light commercials. Category CE (Class 1) HGV Licence (essential). Good knowledge of diagnostics, electrical systems, and modern vehicle technology. IRTEC accreditation (preferred but not essential). Flexible approach to working hours, including occasional overtime. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail with paperwork. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Benefits: Overtime opportunities. Company uniform and PPE provided.
